いま、アメリカンヴィンテージウエアの世界で、世界的に人気を誇る「CHAMPION（チャンピオン）」は、1919年、ニューヨークでKnickerbocker Knitting Mills（ニッカーボッカー・ニッティング・ミルズ）の名前で創業しました。
’23年からウール製のアスレチックウエアを作り始め、’28年にはコットン製のアスレチックウエア、つまりスウェットシャツやパンツに着手。それから多くの大学や高校のウエアを手掛け続け、100年経った現在、“キング・オブ・スウェットシャツ”と称されるほどの存在になった。本書ではそんなCHAMPIONの100年間を、様々なカテゴリーのプロダクツで紐解きます。
